Week #3

Winter weather can be brutal. Sometimes just a quick walk to your car after class can leave icicles hanging from your face. Usually we are bitter about these things and are too ignorant to recognize the beauty of winter.
For the first time, I drove out to Grand Haven beach to inspect the beauty on winter that I often ignore. The members of the trip consisted of my mom, dad, brother, and myself. Finding available parking was a trick of itself.
Needless to say that we discovered a glorious open spot. The view consisted of an infinite horizon of jagged ice. It was as though someone has sliced the snow covered tops off the mountains and scattered them over a white plain.
As we ventured out, the element of danger began to make itself more evident in the form of hidden holes, slick spots, and rapid inclines. To our left, we'd discovered a cliff or bluff made from the crashing waves just days before. This thing was solid ice and made climbing on it near impossible. On the top of it lay lumps of ice taunting me to grab them for support, but I soon realized that they were pure ice and too slick to use for grips. But from the top, the view was astonishing. The beams of light piercing through the clouds struck the hills of diamonds that stretched to the edge of the horizon. The shivers running down my spine reminded me this is God's beauty. Breath taking.
